Rosmah Mansor beli mutiara $150,000 di Perth, Australia

ISTERI Perdana Menteri, Rosmah Mansor yang diketahui umum sebagai seorang yang boros dan gemar bermewah-mewahan dengan pelbagai barangan mahal, kali ini kantoi lagi.

Sewaktu mengikuti suaminya Najib Razak ke persidangan negara-negara komenwel, CHOGM di Perth Australia, menurut Akhbar The West Australia, Rosmah Mansor dilaporkan telah membeli sejumlah mutiara bernilai $150,000 (RM387,888).

Malah anak perempuannya juga turut berbelanja sakan di David Jones sehingga $60,000 (RM193,944).

Suaminya menyarankan agar rakyat semua berbelanja secara berhemah memandangkan ekonomi berada di dalam keadaan yang tidak menentu. Dalam masa yang sama isteri dan anaknya sendiri berbelanja sakan bagaikan tiada hari esok.

Hutang negara mencecah RM437.2 bilion

Hutang kerajaan persekutuan mencecah RM437.2 bilion atau 52.7 peratus daripada Keluaran Dalam Negeri Kasar (KDNK) sehingga 30 Jun tahun ini.

Angka yang mengerunkan itu diperoleh daripada jawapan bertulis Kementerian Kewangan kepada soalan ahli parlimen Seputeh, Teresa Kok yang meminta menteri kewangan menyenaraikan negara luar yang memberi hutang kepada Malaysia.

Daripada jumlah berkenaan, sebahagian besar hutang kerajaan adalah daripada hutang dalam negara yang berjumlah RM421 bilion atau 96.3 peratus daripada keseluruhan hutang.

Manakala bakinya RM16.2 bilion atau 3.7 peratus merupakan hutang luar negara.

So, who calls the shots then?

Two days ago, it was announced that Gadang Holdings has been awarded the Shah Alam hospital contract for a price of RM410.87 million. This is RM60 million above the approved price of RM352 million. The Ministry of Finance actually rejected Gadang Holdings as well as the price increase but the Ministry of Works went ahead and awarded the contract to Gadang Holdings and at a higher price as well.

Gadang subsidiary gets RM410.87m Shah Alam hospital job
(The Edge, 11 Oct 2011) -- GADANG HOLDINGS BHD has accepted a RM410.87 million contract from the Public Works Department to undertake the completion of the abandoned works at the Shah Alam Hospital. 
It said on Tuesday, Oct 11 that its wholly owned subsidiary Gadang Engineering (M) Sdn Bhd had accepted the letter of acceptance for the project at the 300-bed hospital.
Gadang said the contract was to be completed within a period of 24 months from the date for possession of site and was expected to contribute positively to its future earnings.

Now read the exchanges of letters below between the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Health. It appears that the contract was awarded to Gadang Holdings at this higher price even though the Ministry of Finance rejected BOTH Gadang Holdings and the application for a price increase.

Whilst giving out cash aid to the poor and Malaysians are welcome, questions are raised as to where the Federal government is going to find the money, when even Petronas is expected to contribute only RM28 billion next year or RM2 billion in dividends less as compared to 2011. The numbers just do not add up when the Federal government still expects revenues to increase from RM183 billion this year to RM186 billion next year despite the lower dividend payments from Petronas.

Many economists have warned that the 2012 Budget risks committing the country to the path of unsustainable spending at a time when the global economic outlook appears to be a recession.

Pakatan Rakyat Syorkan Jumlah Dividen Petronas Dikurang Kepada RM26 Bilion Sahaja

Pakatan Rakyat mengesyorkan supaya kerajaan mengurangkan jumlah dividen yang dibayar oleh Petronas kepada kerajaan persekutuan bagi tahun 2012 kepada RM26 bilion.

Kerjaan persekutuan pimpinan Barisan Nasional mengenakan bayaran dividen sebanyak RM30 billion daripada Petronas. Pakatan di dalam bajet alternatifnya mengenakan bayaran dividen sebanyak RM26 billion.

Ketua Pembangkang, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim berkata jumlah ini lebih kecil dan akan mengajar kerajaan berjimat dan mengamalkan disiplin fiskal untuk mengekang hutang negara.

Tambahnya ia juga memberi keupayaan Petronas melabur balik ke dalam operasinya dan menjamin pendapatan negara pada jangka panjang.

Reason To Vote

First of all, is casting a vote a 'right' (hak) or a responsibilty (tanggungjawab)?

In some countries (including Singapore), casting a vote is a citizen's responsibility. If you don't cast your vote you will be fined. In Malaysia, the TV used to air the 'Mari Mengundi' song which sings, " Marilah mari, pergi mengundi.. jangan lupa KEWAJIPAN (responsibility), pada negara". Is the government sending the correct message to the people?

Voting is not a responsibility to the Malaysians. It is just an 'OPTION' for those who are 21 years old and above. No action will be taken if they do not register or choose not to vote on the polling day. That is why many of us choose not to register, mainly because they don't care and they do not think it is their responsibility to vote for the next government. Even though they are 21 years old, but they do not have the maturity in believing that they NEED to vote for the best government. They are young and they are enjoying their life even though they do not vote. Most of them, do not believe that their vote can bring any change to the country. They take things for granted as they are convenient with the current lifestyle in Malaysia under the existing government.


They do not care how the tax money is being spent by the government as they do not pay any income tax due to minimal monthly salary received. That is why, they do not know that the government is wasting people's money for unnecessary payments and not serious in combating corruption. All these issues does not mean anything to them. So, why should they care to vote then?




I am 36 years old, and I never cared to vote before 2008. I did not care about which government rules the country as I too did not believe that my vote could make any change. But the wave to remove Pak Lah by voting anything but BN changed many of us. It triggers me to register myself as a legal voter and for the first time I cast my vote to oppose BN and to ensure that BN would not get 2/3 majority. Then I realized that my vote did made a change to the country when Pakatan Rakyat took control of 5 states.

From that moment, I started to push my friends to register as a legal voter so that their voices could be heard. Doesn't matter which party they are voting for. And since that moment, I realized that we need to change so that we could have a better Malaysia, the one without cronyism, no corruption, etc. and that is when I decided to launch this web blog 'Changing Our Mindset' for the purpose of delivering the untold stories to the Malaysians so that they know what is really happening, so that they would be able to make the right decision on the polling day.

Pushing your friends who has no interest to vote and does not believe in the voting system to register as legal voter is not an easy task. The main factor is that they do not believe in the system, so they won't bother to register as a voter as they do not think it is worth for them to register and to vote. I still can't convince many of them to register as legal voters!

I believe that thousands of Malaysian who was triggered to vote for the 1st time just to reject Pak Lah will remain loyal to Pakatan Rakyat and it is something that BN should be worried off. These are the people who are in favor for change and will continue voting for the alternative party in the big cities around Malaysia.

If you still have not registered as a legal voter, please visit any SPR booth available nationwide. It is not your responsibility to cast a vote but it is your right and, you have the option to  vote or not to vote on the polling day. Think for the future, a better Malaysia for our next generation including our kids, do not decide to vote just to appreciate what the previous government has done for the country because the current BN is not the previous BN. The current BN is only good in making promises, in spending people's money but does not put enough effort to fight corruptions, wrong doings,etc. and they can't even guarantee us a better Malaysia for our future generation. BN today is no longer the BN it used to be!

Corruption is worst than drug, if we can hang the drug traffickers to death why can't we hang a corrupt government to death? Not to forget, it is also a Muslim's responsibility to fight corruption or you will be answerable to Allah at Padang Masyar. It is also everybody's responsibility to fight any wrong doings, it does not matter what ever their religion is!

You mess with the Sultan at your own peril

Dear Pete,

After reading my piece in your website about Rosmah’s presence in the closed door meeting between Najib and his aides in the Ministry of Finance prior to the presentation of 2012 Budget in Parliament, a veteran Johor UMNO friend of my Dad sent me an e-mail about the case of the Sultan of Johor being offended by Lim Guan Eng’s speech. The gist of his very long e-mail summarised as follows:

According to this friend, the Johor Royal Family has always stayed above politics and hates to be dragged into it, and the present Sultan has made this point crystal clear. It is the Johor UMNO that is always looking for opportunities to get the Royal Family involved to lend credence to their ulterior motives.

UMNO has not learned their lesson after what happened during the Constitution crisis during the Mahathir–Iskandar era. Starting from the north, Kedah, Mahathir’s home-state, UMNO organised rallies to gain support for Mahathir’s proposals to amend the Constitution shaving off the powers of the Rulers, specifically that of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong for Dr M feared that the incoming Agong (which was to be Sultan Iskandar of Johor) would not give assent to bills passed by the Mahathir-controlled Parliament.

When the rally came down south to Johor, who was to speak up for UMNO but Johorean Musa Hitam, the DPM then. Musa was obliged to speak and he did. His Highness Sultan Iskandar was fuming mad, and he ordered that all photos of Mahathir and Musa be taken down from all State Government offices. At a function in Saujana (the Johor MB’s residence), the Sultan purposely arrived late to make Mahathir wait, a lesson Dr M never forgets.

Then came the opportunity for the Sultan to teach 'this kurang ajar’ anak Johor, Musa, a lesson. During a Friday prayer session at the Mosque in Kg Baru, KL, TV3 filmed this incident when Sultan Iskandar told Musa to apologise before Allah and the congregation.

“The noble Brutus hath told you Caesar was ambitious: If it were so, it was a grievous fault, and grievously hath Caesar answer’d it,” said Shakespeare. If Guan Eng had in fact uttered those words, Guan Eng has paid for it by publicly apologising to His Highness Sultan Johor, even though the Tuanku did not insist on it but was demanded by DPM Muhyiddin.

DPM Muhyiddin knew what happened to Musa Hitam at the mosque in Kg Baru, KL, and he is very careful now to not step on the Sultan’s toe. This sly fox is just waiting for Najib to make a mistake, for he also knows that Najib has been snubbing the Sultan -- probably because of some mega-projects in Johor which Rosmah wants for her cronies, but the Sultan disagrees. The Sultan is fully aware of Rosmah’s unsatisfiable and boundless greed (maybe in her desire to overtake Daim Zainuddin in wealth). Muhyiddin is praying and playing to the Sultan that His Highness might explode and expose Rosmah's scheme of things to pave the way for Muhyiddin to move into whatever projects Rosmah is after, and also move into Najib's seat in Putrjaya. Don't forget, Johor State is the bastion of UMNO, which can tell Najib to go and fly a kite.
It is common knowledge to Singaporeans that whenever they are in Johor Bahru they are targets for highway robbers, kidnappers, extortionists, etc., because of their vehicle registration plates. Big-time Ah Longs and 4D gambling syndicates operate in Johor Bahru. Before Singapore legalised horse racing punting within Singapore, all the bookies operated from JB. There are more money changers in JB than any Malaysian town, KL included, to cater for the gamblers rather than the shoppers. Obviously, the Home Minister, who is also a Johorean, has not been directing his policemen to get rid of these menaces from the Royal Town, and the Sultan being the Head of Islam in Johor, is not amused at all. We have heard rumours that Hisham is now aligned to the DPM and is forsaking his own cousin; politics at play.

To all who dares to engage the displeasure of His Royal Highness Sultan Ibrahim Iskandar, let it be known that the same fate that befell Tun Musa Hitam awaits the idiotic challenger! As for Rosmah, her pedigree, background and education are thousands of miles behind those of the Consort to the Sultan of Johor, Raja Zarith Sofia except perhaps in money and branded handbags.

Something is not right at all!

Prior to the presentation of the 2012 Budget by the PM in the Dewan Rakyat, Najib had a closed door meeting with his top aides of the Finance Ministry and the presence of Bank Negara Governor and the Chief Secretary to the Government.

What we do not understand is what the f**k is the pseudo “First Lady” Rosmah among the attendees? She has no locus standi to be there, except if she wanted first-hand knowledge of the Budget, which is supposed to be confidential until and unless it has been presented to the Parliament. She wants to make sure her own pet projects are safely there, as she does not trust her husband’s words!

Is she telling us that she rank pari pasu with the other top cats, or even higher?

No previous Finance Minister had their wife around during such private previews before Budget is presented. Not even Tun Dr Siti Hasmah. This woman is definitely going to cause the downfall of Najib and nullify all the hard work of Najib walking around among the Rakyat recently.

UMNO insiders will not tolerate such behavior by Rosmah, and before Mahathir blows his trumpet of disapproval, I am beating Dr Mahathir to the gun, this time.

NAJIB CHECKS ON FINAL 2012 BUDGET PREPARATIONS
PUTRAJAYA, Oct 6 (Bernama) -- Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak tonight monitored final preparations involving Finance Ministry''s staff ahead of tomorrow''s tabling of the 2012 Budget.
Najib, who is Finance Minister, spent about one hour at the ministry, during which he also chaired a closed-door meeting with senior ministry officials.

Present were his wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, Second Finance Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Husni Hanadzlah, Deputy Finance Ministers Datuk Dr Awang Adek Hussin and Datuk Donald Lim Siang Chai.
Treasury Secretary-General Tan Sri Dr Wan Abdul Aziz Wan Abdullah, Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Mohd Sidek Hassan as well as Bank Negara Governor Tan Sri Dr Zeti Akhtar Aziz were also present.

Najib is scheduled to table Malaysia''s 2012 Budget at the Dewan Rakyat at 4pm.

In remarks made ahead of the event, the prime minister said that it would be a transformational budget for all Malaysians in line with the concept of 1Malaysia: People First, Performance Now.

ADUN DAP dakwa ditawar RM150,000 lompat parti

ADUN Bentayan, Gwee Tiong Hiang hari ini mendedahkan bahawa tawaran telah dibuat oleh pihak-pihak yang mendakwa mewakili perdana menteri supaya meninggalkan DAP dan mengisytiharkan dirinya sebagai wakil rakyat bebasd.

Dalam satu sidang akhbar di ibupejabat DAP di Kuala Lumpur, Gwee berkata, beliau telah ditawarkan RM150,000 wang tunai, 50 ekar tanah, sekurang-kurangnya RM5,000 elaun bulanan tambahan, sebuah pusat perkhidmatan dan seorang pembantu peribadi jika bersetuju melompat parti.

Menurutnya, seorang lelaki, yang pertama kali menghubunginya melalui telefon pada 26 September dan mendakwa sebagai setiausaha agung persatuan klan Wee Johor Baru, juga memberi jaminan bahawa Gwee, akan diberi sokongan jika bertanding menentang DAP dalam pilihan raya umum.

Gwee mendedahkan trankrip rakaman satu lagi perbualan telefon antara beliau dengan 'ejen' empat hari selepas dihubungi.

Katanya, 'ejen', tersebut, yang mendakwa mewakili perdana menteri, berkata wang tawaran itu akan datang dari pusat, tetapi akan disalurkan melalui persatuan berkenaan.

Rakaman perbualan dalam bahasa Mandarin pada 30 September itu juga diperdengarkan semasa sidang akhbar tersebut.

Gwee berkata, 'ejen' itu, bersama dengan seorang lelaki Melayu yang Gwee dakwa mewakili Jabatan Perdana Menteri, bertemu dengannya pada 28 September untuk buat tawaran pertama RM50,000.

"Lelaki itu berkata dia berasa kesian dengan saya bahawa kami
berkongsi nama keluarga yang sama dan dia mahu membantu saya kerana parti saya tidak mahukan saya lagi ...

"Tetapi saya rasa saya masih seorang (ADUN) DAP. Tawaran BN ini adalah tidak betul, saya perlu mendedahkan. Saya boleh memberitahu BN bukan setiap (ADUN) atau ahli parlimen DAP boleh dibeli. Saya sayangkan parti. Parti saya hanyalah DAP," kata Gwee, sambil mengesat air mata.
