Court orders Kelantan to pay logging firm RM800m

KOTA BARU: The Kelantan government has reportedly been ordered to pay RM800 million in damages to a logging company for violating agreements made between the two parties since 45 years ago.

PAS has ruled Kelantan for 20 of those years, according to party vice-president Salahuddin Ayub, and without a “single corruption charge”.
Bernama reports that High Court is said to have ordered the biggest amount in damages to be paid in a civil case in its history.
It is understood that the decision was made by the court yesterday afternoon involving Timbermine Sdn Bhd and the state government.
The case is believed to have been filed in 2004.
