PETALING JAYA: An UMNO speaker’s no-show at a Biro Tata Negara (BTN) forum last night drew the ire of a disgruntled audience, wanting to know why none were around to share their views on this “important issue”.
Voicing their views for fair representation among speakers, one irate participant loudly declared “where is the UMNO speaker …” to which a spokesman for the organisors said:
“We have invited a few names from UMNO to be represented during the
forum, however we fail to receive any feedback for unknown reasons..
“Even just now we are still trying to trace Dr Asyraf. We have called several times and he’s not picking up the phone,” the spokesperson said.
Former UMNO Tumpat candidate Dr. Asyraf Wajdi Dasuki, was a no show at the forum which saw the likes of Batu Caves PKR assemblyman Amirudin Shari, author Eddin Khoo, Seri Setia PKR assemblyman Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad and Malaysiakini.com columnist Dr. KJ John as the panel of the forum.
About 200 participants attended the forum titled ‘BIRO TATANEGARA (BTN): PATRIOTIK ATAU PERKAUMAN? ’organised by the Selangor government
Also present at the Forum were State Councillor Teresa Kok and Balik Pulau MP Yusmadi Yusoff.
